Ethanol is a clean-burning alternative fuel produced domestically from renewable energy sources such as, corn, sorghum, wheat, sugar cane, and barley. It is a colorless liquid which belongs to a family of compounds called alcohols and can be produced from a number of different precursors. Ethanol can be blended with gasoline in various quantities from E10 (10% ethanol, 90% gasoline) to E85.
