The Nevada division of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) garnered 28 Million in a recent auction of geothermal land totaling 105,000 acres. The leases are located in the counties of Churchill, Elko, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lander, Mineral, Nye, and Pershing. Geothermal leases in the state of Nevada are up over 400% from the previous year. At present, Nevada has 40 geothermal projects in various stages of development - more than any other state.
